What To Do
- Get a plate that fits in your microwave. Make sure it’s microwave-safe.
- Put a paper towel down on the plate. This soaks up the bacon grease.
- Lay your bacon slices in a single layer on top of the towel. Don’t let them overlap if you want them crispy.
- Add another paper towel on top. Keeps the splatter under control.
- Pop it in the microwave. Start with 3 minutes on high if you’re doing just a few slices. For more bacon or if the strips are thick, go up to 6 minutes.
- When the timer beeps, check if the bacon’s crispy enough for you. Not crispy? Try another 30 seconds at a time.
- Take it out (careful, plate’s hot). Let it sit for a minute so it crisps up more. Then eat. That’s it.
lightbulb_2 Tips
- Use regular paper towels. Try not to use the fancy quilted ones, they stick to the bacon.
- Don’t stack the bacon. If you have a lot, just do a second batch.
- Microwaves are all different. Watch it the first time so you don’t burn it.
- Bacon shrinks fast. If it looks soft when you pull it out, give it a sec. It crisps up as it cools.
- No bacon rack? No problem. Paper towels work fine.
- Works with turkey bacon too if that’s your thing. Just check it sooner, it cooks fast.
