Super Easy Fried Eggs

Eggs in a pan. That’s pretty much it. Hot pan, crack eggs, cook a minute or two and done. Easy breakfast. You just need eggs, a little oil or butter, salt and pepper — that’s all.

What You Do

  1. Grab a frying pan and put it on the stove.
  2. Add about a teaspoon of butter or oil. Doesn’t need to be perfect. Turn the heat to medium so it melts and spreads across the pan.
  3. Crack your eggs one at a time into the pan. I usually do two but one or three is cool too — whatever you like.
  4. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper right on the eggs.
  5. Let them cook untouched for about 2-3 minutes if you like the yolks soft. If you like your yolks totally cooked, keep them on the pan for another minute or two.
  6. If you want, you can carefully flip the eggs over with a spatula and cook the other side for another 30 seconds. That makes them “over easy.” (up to you)
  7. Slide them out of the pan onto a plate. That’s it. You’re done.

Eat Up

Put them on toast. Or eat them just as they are. Works for breakfast, lunch, pretty much whenever.

lightbulb_2 Tips

  • If you want the edges crispy, let the pan get hot before the eggs go in.
  • Butter gives more flavor but oil works fine if you’re out or want to keep it lighter.
  • Without a nonstick pan, use a little more oil/butter so your eggs don’t stick.
  • You can totally add stuff. Grated cheese on top is so good. Or throw on some chopped herbs if you want to feel fancy.
  • If the yolks break, don’t worry. It still tastes good. Happens to everyone.
